Universal Brewing Instructions

These instructions are designed for simplicity and consistency, working well for most home brewing methods with our freshly roasted coffee. For best results, use fresh, filtered water and store your coffee in an airtight container away from light, heat, and moisture. Aim for a coffee-to-water ratio of 1:16 (e.g., 1 tablespoon coffee per 6 oz water) and water temperature of 195–205°F (just off the boil). Adjust to taste for strength.

Drip Coffee Maker (Auto-Drip)
1. Grind: Medium grind (like table salt) if using whole beans.
2. Measure: 2 tablespoons (10g) ground coffee per 6 oz water.
3. Brew: Fill the reservoir with fresh water, add coffee to the filter, and start the machine.
4. Time: Brew cycle typically 4–6 minutes. Enjoy immediately.

Pour-Over (e.g., Chemex or V60)
1. Grind: Medium-fine grind (like sea salt).
2. Measure: 20g coffee for 10–12 oz water.
3. Bloom: Rinse filter with hot water, add coffee, pour 40g water to bloom for 30 seconds.
4. Brew: Slowly pour remaining water in circles. Total brew time: 3–4 minutes.

French Press
1. Grind: Coarse grind (like breadcrumbs).
2. Measure: 1:15 ratio (e.g., 30g coffee for 16 oz water).
3. Steep: Add coffee to press, pour hot water, stir, and steep for 4 minutes.
4. Press: Plunge slowly and pour immediately to avoid over-extraction.

Pro Tip: For consistent results, weigh your coffee and water with a scale. Experiment with grind size based on your equipment—finer for espresso-style, coarser for immersion methods. If your brew tastes bitter, coarsen the grind or shorten brew time; if weak, finer grind or more coffee.
